Dennis Braun runs an independent lutherie atelier in Torre del Mar, twenty minutes east of Málaga. Violins, violas and cellos built, restored and set up by hand — one instrument at a time, by appointment.
Full violin setup
Bridge cut, soundpost fit, nut and pegs — the difference between a frustrating instrument and a singing one.
Cello restoration
Crack repair, top removal, neck resets and historically informed retouching for older European cellos.
Bow rehair
Mongolian or Siberian horsehair, hand-combed and properly spread. Same-week turnaround by appointment.
Sound adjustment
Soundpost and bridge adjustment to open up a dull instrument or tame a harsh one. Often done in a single visit.
New instruments
Hand-built violins, violas and cellos in the Cremonese tradition, varnished with oil varnish over a yellow ground.
Appraisal & valuation
Written valuation for insurance, sale or inheritance — based on construction, condition and provenance.
